Aladdin: Live Action Movie Review

It’s been so long since I’ve seen the cartoon Aladdin, I’m not sure if this movie was anything like the original. I’m not going to do a Maverick review on this movie and dive into the characters, I’ll just give you my honest two cents.

I think thought the movie was fun, yet slow in certain areas.

Almost all of Jasmine’s music solos fell flat.

Will Smith is just freaking awesome. He did a great job of playing the Genie. When Smith made his appearance, the movie came alive. Before then – zzzzzzzzzzzz.

Real life Aladdin was okay, nothing spectacular. His hair could have used a lot more volume. While I’m on the topic of hair, Jasmine’s hair could have been done a lot better.

Again, the movie dragged, not so much to till my backyard, but bad enough to put my mom to sleep, haha. And she’s really wanted to see the movie!

Overall, I would give this movie a solid C grade. It wasn’t the greatest, not the worst. I wouldn’t buy the movie or recommend you go to see it unless you have kids. And then, I’m wondering if kids would actually like it.

I go by either "Steven" or "Steve" it really doesn't matter. I'm not a professional screenwriter anymore, so there's no need to suck up to me and send me your latest script. I have zero ambition to work in the entertainment industry. I'm now just a regular guy who knows a bit about storytelling, wants to share that knowledge to inspire new writers, and to share my work with everyone!
