THE NINE PERSONALITY TYPES TO REMEMBER!

To become a great storyteller, you need to know personality like the back of your hand. The Enneagram, in my opinion, is the easiest and most accurate model of the human psyche out there. Taking the time to learn each personality type in and out, their strengths, their fears, their paranoias, will help you create or capture, accurate characters.

It’s going to take time to learn all of them.  But trust me, if you spend some time doing this, everything else will fall into place.  You won’t need to purchase books or sit in seminars asking writers, “How do you create believable characters?”

There are nine personality types to learn, all of which you’ll find below.  Once you learn each of these well, I’ll teach you about the lines (that’s when things really get interesting).   Don’t worry if you circle back and get personalities confused in the beginning.  That happens.

Each personality type is clickable.

This is where the lesson starts, learning about the 9 personality types!

Hint, it’s best to start with the Type One!

TYPE ONE “REFORMER”

The compulsive fixer that lives by a strong personal moral code, which they want everyone else to follow.  They are often seen as law and order individuals, and righteous to their followers.

TYPE TWO “HELPER”

The kind and generous person that obsessively puts others first before themselves.

TYPE THREE “ACHIEVER”

Winning and the accolades that come along with it, are on the mind of this extremely charming personality.  Emphasize on charming.

TYPE FOUR “INDIVIDUALISTS”

These extremely creative and expressive artistic personalities are on a never-ending quest to find themselves, their place in the world, their identity “authentic self”, and their purpose.

TYPE FIVE “INTELLECT”

The genius whose drug and meaning in life is information, research, and data.

TYPE SIX “LOYALISTS”

Those that have a neverending fear of abandonment, and a fear of themselves, to the point where they seek out rescuers.  They often find refuge in groups.

TYPE SEVEN “ENTHUSIASTS”

The overly fun adrenaline junkies that can’t stay still in one place for too long.   They have many hobbies, many adventures, sometimes too many to count.

TYPE EIGHT “CHALLENGER”

The strongest and most dominant of all personalities, that are natural-born leaders.  They are often called “Type A”,  as they lead through intimidation and fear.

TYPE NINE “PEACEMAKER”

The naturally shy persona who has a knack for understanding all personality types, and can literally become the reason for harmony between two arguing parties.
