I go by either "Steven" or "Steve" it really doesn't matter. I'm not a professional screenwriter anymore, so there's no need to suck up to me and send me your latest script. I have zero ambition to work in the entertainment industry. I'm now just a regular guy who knows a bit about storytelling, wants to share that knowledge to inspire new writers, and to share my work with everyone!
OVERTHINKING IS NEVER A GOOD THING Alejandro Inattiru started thinking up Digger after he finished the movie The Revenant. He said he had the character and the idea, but he had no idea how to tell the story because he wanted more than just an End-of the-world movie. Eventually, he […]
WELL, THAT WAS HOPELESS (no spoilers) I really wanted to like this movie. I walked into that theater with a bias towards Korea, and I walked out screaming, “What the hell did I just watch!” There is a story to Hope – you’re just not privy to it until […]
I LOVE MINIONS My house is littered with Minion toys. I have stuffed animals, the little Minions from McDonald’s, Universal Studios, and the theaters. They’re everywhere. Am I biased when it comes to Minion movies? You betchya. But – I’m also critical, and my standards are very high. The Despicable […]
BAD WRITING = BAD MOVIE I should have walked out on this movie, but I didn’t. I stayed because I wanted to review this movie, and of course, you can’t review a flick you didn’t see – right? To sum it up, the script sucked. Ana Nogueira, the screenwriter who […]
OBSESSION WASN’T FOR ME I almost walked out of the theater. That’s how bad I thought it was. This was a solid F for me, and I’ll explain why in a second. But nothing really worked for me here. The plot, the characters, the concept, the “horror” (yeah, there wasn’t […]
This short film we produced was done with AI. AI “FILMMAKING” IS FINALLY HERE AND IT’S THE NEAR FUTURE Waaay…. back in the mid-90s, when I was a lot thinner and had a lot more hair, I found myself in California, struggling to make it as a professional screenwriter. Around […]
YUP, I’M A FAN I arrived fairly late to the Stranger Things franchise. Season 1 was released on July 15th, 2016. I got into it because of the COVID lockdowns, and I had to find something to do, so I binged Stranger Things for 3 Seasons and was hooked. After […]
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE The Final Reckoning This movie was awesome, even though it wasn’t perfect. Let’s get into the stuff that bothered me first, and then I’ll start praising the heck out of it. By the way, I’ll do this all without spoilers, so – you can read on, without fear, […]
WELL…I WAS WRONG Before the keyboard warriors get their undies twisted into a knot, let me quickly explain why I am reviewing a fight on my page. First off, I review much more than movies and television shows on this site. I write about anything I want – because, after […]
