PATRIOTS WIN SUPER BOWL LIII AND NICK FOLES

As the dust settles on Super Bowl 53, three undeniable facts remain true:

  • The Patriots and Tom Brady are incredibly hard to beat in the playoffs and the Super Bowl.
  • The Giants and Eli Manning beat them twice in the Super Bowl
  • The Eagles and Nick Foles beat them once in the Super Bowl. It seems like the NFC East has the Patriot’s number?

When I focus my attention on Nick Foles, things get a little more interesting:

  • Nick Foles outperformed Tom Brady, in the Super Bowl, at his best.
    • Tom Brady threw 28 of 48 passes for 505 yards, 3 TDs, and 0 INTs
    • Nick Foles threw 28 of 43 passes for 373 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, and had 1 receiving TD
  • Nick Foles, The Eagles, Doug Peterson, beat both the Rams and Patriots, when they were playing their best football.

Jared Goff was a deer in headlights at the Super Bowl. He was not in his element, it really looked as though the stage was too big for him. His performance was pretty much lock in step with his performance at Soldier Field.

The 2019 NFL Football Season is going to be very entertaining to say the least. With Foles expected to start on another team, these questions will finally be answered:

  • Will Nick Foles be able to lead a team to the Super Bowl as a NFL starter?
  • Will Carson Wentz be able to lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl?
  • Will Tom Brady be too old to play?

I can’t wait!
