I LOVE MINIONS
My house is littered with Minion toys. I have stuffed animals, the little Minions from McDonald’s, Universal Studios, and the theaters. They’re everywhere. Am I biased when it comes to Minion movies? You betchya. But – I’m also critical, and my standards are very high. The Despicable Me franchise has more heart than the Minion Movie franchise. The Minion Movie franchise is all about laughs and exploring their crazy world, from beginning to Gru.
Did I love Minions and Monsters? Yes, I did.
The script was well written, unlike most of the movies I saw this year. The directors, writers, actors, and animators are extremely good at giving each Minion an obvious personality the second you encounter them. Almost immediately, we pretty much can understand their motivations, their agendas, their fears. Strangely, very strangely, most characters in 2026 are just flat, boring, and stupid.
Should you see it? If you want to laugh. Yes. It’s also safe for kids, by the way.
